The Youth Group (along with the Social Action Committee) sponsored a panel and discussion on immigration on Jan. 9. Guest speakers included Nicole Trambouret, State Policy Director at Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy (MIRA); Steve Schnapp, Senior Education Coordinator with United for a Fair Economy Coalition; Lucille Persing, MSW, Rape Crisis Services of Greater Lowell; Diego Low, Metrowest Worker Center; Student Immigrant Movement, a statewide immigrant youth-led organization advocating for the DREAM act; Mark Noferi, legal faculty at Brooklyn Law School.
